Nextel S.A. has undertaken the technical coordination and implementation of Standard UNE-ISO/IEC 20000-1:2007 in seventeen companies across the country, managing to introduce this IT service management system for the first time in the SME (PYME in Spanish) arena.
The seventeen participating organizations of Project 20000PYME (Entel Ibai, MCCTELECOM, S. Coop., TDS Consultores, SPC Net Soluciones de Negocio Electrónico S.L., INKOA Sistemas S.L., N-LINK Automatización y Sistemas, ANER Sistemas Informáticos, IPARBIT, INNOBASK, SEYS Semiconductores y Sistemas S.A., DATINET Soluciones Informáticas, IGARLE S.L., Servicios Informáticos KIFER S.L., Digital Parks, SAREIN, K35 and Informática de Euskadi) have been successfully certified in compliance with UNE-ISO/IEC 20000-1: 2007 Information Technology – Service Management.
Within the framework of the Avanza Plan, CONETIC (Spanish Confederation of Information, Communication and Electronic Technology Companies) has been responsible for presenting this certification project for which GAIA (Association of Electronic and Information Technology Industries of the Basque Country) was in charge of the general coordination, as well as the selection of the participating SMEs.
The certification process of these organizations has been developed in four stages, starting with the evaluation of the company’s situation in terms of reference standard requirements; the preparation of a plan for the project’s development; the effective enforcement of the Standard; and, finally, the successful achievement of approval in the certification process.
By meeting the Standard, companies have been able to improve their IT service management with considerable added quality, allowing them to reinforce their clients’s confidence and position themselves in the market as companies capable of assuring the quality level of their services.
Recently, Nextel S.A. was joined by CONETIC, GAIA and AENOR in the preparation of the ISO/IEC 20000 Guide for SMEs under the slogan “Implementing an IT Service Management System”.
